We are now looking for a Reward specialist to join our global HR Reward team at RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST) on a permanent basis. The role shall be based in our headquarters in Essen (Germany) and will report to the Head of Reward.

This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Reward specialist to join an international leading energy trading house which is in a period of growth. As Reward specialist you will support the team in designing competitive and innovative total reward activities so that we can attract and retain the talent we need to achieve our business goals across all locations. Duties will include supporting and co-ordinating the annual bonus and salary review process – creating the annual timetable, moderate bonus and salary proposals and prepare analysis as required. Furthermore, you will be responsible for benchmarking market data in order to develop long-term strategies. As our business is growing, you will support to develop strategies for moving our employees across borders and countries and come up with recommendations for adopting our reward framework accordingly. You have Excel superpowers, processing big data volumes is your thing, drive your decisions through simplifying data and have an eye for detail. Your daily playground
You will engage in job responsibilities such as the following:

  • Act as point of contact on compensation and benefits questions, both internally to HR and to the business
  • Be responsible for supporting the Head of Reward in developing, implementing and embedding our reward strategy across all locations from both an operational and strategic perspective
  • Provide guidance on reward topics including base pay, incentive plan management, salary benchmarking, pension management, benefits management, equal pay audits, and annual compensation events such as bonus and salary review
  • Help shape our compensation approach, review existing policies & processes and implement improvement where necessary
  • Support the design and implementation of compensation and benefits structures for new markets
  • Support and co-ordinate the core cyclical reward activities including annual salary review and bonus payments
  • Develop job evaluation, grading and benchmarking activities, external survey data collection and analysis
  • Develop and deliver people analytics and reporting requirements to identify trends and deliver solutions
  • Develop and manage big data models with Excel, VBA and Power Query as well as enhancing the usage of our HR systems

Your powerful skills

The successful candidate will work alongside our business and help to ensure pay structures, strategy and relevant policies are effectively managed. Your primary value shall include objectivity, entrepreneurship, integrity and professional fulfillment. Therefore we are looking for the following in our candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field like economics or mathematics from a four-year college or university
  • Experience in a reward or/and related HR role, preferably in a fast-paced, ambiguous and international environment
  • Experience in benchmarking and evaluation methods as well as job evaluation
  • Analytical mindset enabling to support data-driven decision-making
  • Commercially driven and able to align reward policy to business objectives
  • Outstanding Excel and financial modelling skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Affinity for HR Technology and platforms, experience with SuccessFactors would be a benefit
  • Fluent in English and German
