We are seeking a professional individual to join our team as a Communications Manager (d/f/m).

Communication shapes the perception of eBay Kleinanzeigen. We connect eBay Kleinanzeigen with numerous stakeholders – from media, to politics and civil society. We tell the stories that have made our online classifieds market one of the most exciting places on the German internet! To find these stories, we partner closely with all departments. You'll have the opportunity to not only implement but actively shape our communications strategy! You'll be able to showcase how eBay Kleinanzeigen positively impacts small and medium-sized businesses, people's lives and society as a whole.

• You manage and further develop our communications strategies with a particular focus on consumer and sustainability topics (this includes our annual Circular Economy Report)
• Identify, develop and plan topics by working closely with various external and internal stakeholders – including our global communications team along with the local leadership team, customer support, legal, product and engineering –, resulting in measurable earned media coverage
• Collaborate closely with our agencies to ensure that together we are consistently producing high quality results
• Create comprehensible content through a wide range of written material like press releases, blog posts, Q&As and briefing materials
• Build and maintain a network of relevant journalists and be in charge of handling incoming (consumer) media inquiries
• You assist with employer branding and marketing efforts, including review of internal and external materials
• You report into the Head of Communications for eBay Kleinanzeigen and will become part of Adevinta’s global communications community

• You hold a Bachelor’s in Public Relations, Journalism, Media, Communications or related field or equivalent practical experience (postgraduate or professional degrees is a plus) and have already demonstrated ability in an agency or corporate environment
• You are a dedicated team player who is flexible and able to shift/prioritize as needs arise
• You are passionate about technology, digital innovation and sustainability
• Profound knowledge of and passion for consumer communications, and fundamental knowledge of corporate communications
• Have a strong interest in news and current affairs and the ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations
• Native level German, and very good English skills, verbal and written (both working languages; English for internal use)
• Proven experience in interacting with journalists (an existing media network in consumer press is a plus)
• Ecommerce experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of content management systems and image processing (knowledge of the Adobe product landscape is a plus)
