When it comes to HR, we are living a mindset based on business orientation, agility and operational excellence whilst believing our purpose is to create value for the organisation and employees. We are now looking for an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our German HR Operational team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST), acting as an advisor to our business and thus helping to translate organisational strategy for RWEST into HR strategy. The ideal candidate will have the right business focus and entrepreneurial mindset in order to operate with the business by showing information, understanding the business needs, linking it and helping leaders transform. The successful candidate will work hand in hand within the operational HR team of Business Partners and HR Advisors and the other HR teams Compensation & Benefits, People & Organisational Development and Talent Attraction to ensure close alignment in terms of business goals whilst also building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and the co-determination.

  • Partner with business stakeholders in our commercial and/or business support units on all aspects of HR to ensure HR genuinely adds value, thus providing HR policy expertise, consultancy and guidance on any employee-related operational HR issues
  • Build and manage trustful working relationships with key stakeholders and business clients at all levels and understand their needs and expectations
  • Proactively support the delivery of HR processes at the client’s side
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relation issues and HR projects cross-functionally
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as required
  • Manage and build a trusted and respectful relationship to our co-determination 
  • Ensure operational excellence and outstanding customer focus at all times
  • Actively identify gaps; propose and implement changes necessary to cover risks
  • Act as performance improvement driver and provoke positive changes in people management
  • Provide guidance and input on business organisational structure 
  • Partner closely with other HRBPs and internal HR teams on global strategy and execution

Your powerful skills

  • Academic background in an HR-related field (Economics, Business Administration, Psychology or equivalent with a strong HR/people management focus
  • Extensive experience within a generalist HR Business Partner role having worked in a fast-paced, delivery-focused commercial environment, ideally on an international level
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Fluency in business German and English
  • Excellent communication skills on all levels to convey complex contents in a way that is actionable for the business
  • Strong level of self-drive and pragmatic ‘can do’ attitude as well as ability to work independently
  • Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven collaborative, relationship management, networking and influencing skills, also across companies within RWE
  • Desire to continuously improve and challenge the status quo
  • Enthusiastic team player with intercultural competence
