YOUR NEW ROLE:

The Competition & Compliance team looks after antitrust and compliance matters at METRO. The team is responsible for operating and developing METRO's compliance management system. It develops group-wide Compliance requirements and supports METRO entities worldwide with implementing them. The Competition & Compliance team is part of the overall department of Compliance, Competition, Procurement Partnerships & Regulatory within the Corporate Legal & Compliance division.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED:

• You will design the compliance management system and contribute to the strategic development of compliance in the company and ensure effective implementation, especially in the area of prevention.
• The relevant topics of organisational legal requirements for the CMS, corruption, money laundering and fraud prevention are part of your responsibility.
• You are responsible for analysing and developing the programme elements of the CMS, taking into account (changing) legal requirements and strategic framework conditions.
• You are responsible for creating content/didactics and conducting compliance training.
• You identify, assess and monitor compliance-relevant risks, support risk analyses, certifications and audits.

• We are seeking to recruit a legal professional with hands-on experience in Compliance matters. Experience in criminal law compliance as well as in working in groups with diverse cultural backgrounds is an asset.
• The desire to engage with and understand customers and their business needs in an international environment comes naturally to you. You do not shy away from taking decisions and are ruthless in defending them if put to test by authorities or other stakeholders. You are focused in taking action whenever opportunity for improving the way things are done presents itself.
• You hold a law degree or a degree in economics (specialized in law) or a comparable qualification.
• You are fluent in English and German. You have experience working in Compliance in a law firm, multi-national company and/or public authority.
