G+D is looking for a (Senior) Azure DevOps / InfraOps Automation Engineer to build and optimize our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment of our cloud-based products. The G+D SaaS products are a state-of-the-art cash center, cash logistic and business intelligence solutions. They enable cash handling, monitoring and optimization in the full banknote handling cycle (processing, validation and logistics). The products are used by central banks, commercial banks and cash in transit (CIT) businesses around the world in combination with G+D Banknote Processing Systems (BPS®). They can be installed on-site at the customer or used as an online service (SaaS) from our own Microsoft Azure-based secure cloud. We are facing an increasing demand for SaaS solutions. Therefore the Azure DevOps / InfraOps Team is responsible to further automate, improve and monitor the SaaS solution delivery (cloud infrastructure plus SaaS applications deployment). The Automation Engineer is responsible for Azure-based the implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) development including SaaS application deployment using Azure DevOps pipelines as well as optimizing our Azure Monitor-based monitoring and alerting system. Your tasks:

  • You will work with a small agile team, which is responsible for the further enhancement and automation of our Azure-based Software-as-a-Service platform
  • Your will develop Azure infrastructure code and pipelines to fully automate and monitor the deployment of new customer instances of multiple SaaS products we are offering
  • You are helping to further scale our platform architecture, increase resilience, monitoring and alerting
  • You are very familiar with the necessary Azure technologies, in particular ARM / Bicep templates in the area of Azure managed services (like Application Gateway, Networks, Virtual Machines, Data Lake, etc.) and Azure DevOps Pipelines and you will continuously develop these further in the team
  • With your experience in interdisciplinary and distributed collaboration and the use of agile frameworks, you can ensure SaaS product success throughout the entire life cycle (according to the motto: “you build it, you run it”)
  • Together in a team of architects, developers and product owners, you will advance the overall solution and thus secure our innovation leadership and customer success

Your profile:

  • You have a degree (Master, FH / Uni) in computer science or comparable professional experience
  • As an Azure DevOps / InfraOps Automation Engineer you have several years of experience in setting up and automating managed services, infrastructure and applications, ideally in Azure or other hyper-scalers using IaC languages (AWS, Google, Terraform, etc.)
  • You pay particular attention to security requirements, scalability and resilience
  • The complete automation of all used Azure services and environments is a matter of course (“Infrastructure as Code”)
  • You have very sound technical skills in the areas of: Azure Resource Manager, Azure DevOps (Pipelines), AAD, SQL, Virtual Machines, Networking, Docker, etc.
  • A high understanding of CI/CD principles and pipelines including automated application deployment and configuration distinguishes you (experience with “real pipeline automation”)
  • Further required are basic knowledge in data bases (SQL / NoSQL), Azure apps and functions and experience in common programming languages like Java, C# or Python
  • You are characterized by your strong analytical skills and a very structured approach. Through your cooperation in teams you have also acquired a high level of communicative competence and assertiveness
  • You have a very good command of English in word and writing. German language skills are an advantage
