The position
By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:
- Monitor relevant developments in energy policy and regulation that impact Equinor’s business, inform business lines about changes and identify potential business opportunities.
- Formulate company positions on questions of German energy and climate policy and energy market regulation.
- Represent Equinor’s positions externally, towards German stakeholders, at relevant industry associations, and in multi-business projects.
- Develop with other project partners common advocacy strategies and activities and pro-actively engage in public affairs work streams in common industry projects.
- Network with energy and climate policy stakeholders in Berlin.
- Advise management on policy and regulatory changes that have or could have commercial and/or operational impact.
- Support in communication activities and being part of the Equinor’s advertisement campaign team in Germany.
Equinor is Europe’s second largest gas supplier and one of the world’s most CO2-efficient producers of gas and oil. The team in Berlin is exposed to natural gas, offshore wind, carbon capture and hydrogen topics and projects.

- Knowledge of German energy and climate policy legislation and regulations.
- Deep understanding of the German political system and partly of the EU political system.
- Experience in advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
- Deep understanding of the political and regulatory framework and the public perception of CO2-capture, transport and storage, hydrogen or renewables in Germany.
- Experience of the full global low carbon market.
- Strong analytical skills, especially regarding climate and energy policy processes.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and German, and the ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships and develop networks.
- Self-starter - small office, manage every-day office tasks and pro-active towards other Equinor internal units.
