The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers masters programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. From August 2023 to July 2024, the Hertie School will celebrate its 20th anniversary. We are looking for a motivated colleague in the field of communications & project management to help plan, organise and implement this milestone in our history in the position of
Associate Communications & Project Management (f/m/div)
Within the implementation of the anniversary campaign, one main focus will be to ensure a smooth coordination and orchestration between anniversary and fundraising activities and measures, as the Hertie School will start a new fundraising initiative - the "Capital Campaign" - during the anniversary year. The successful candidate therefore reports to the Director Communications and will closely coordinate with the Director Advancement and Career Development.
The position is to start on 01 March 2023, full-time and limited to 12 months.
Your tasks:
- Plan, organise and coordinate jubilee events for the 20th anniversary year of the Hertie School.
- Coordinate service providers for jubilee-related events and products
- Development and dissemination of communication products for anniversary; including budgeting
- Support the communication of the Hertie School's Capital Campaign during the 20th anniversary.
- Cooperation with all relevant stakeholders at the Hertie School, such as board members, faculty, Centres of Competence, students, and alumni.
Your profile:
- Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Up to two years of professional experience in relevant areas, such event management, communication and project management.
- Excellent knowledge of all suitable communication channels
- Familiarity with higher education in an international context and an understanding of the Hertie School's rote in it
- High interest in public policy and profound knowledge of the relevant debates, forums and actors at the national, European and global levels.
- Great interpersonal skills, a problem-solving mindset, and creativity.
- Excellent communication and writing skills at near native level in both English and German.
- High proficiency with standard software applications and database management.
