EPTA is the voice of the European power tools sector in Brussels and Europe. It represents 25 power tool manufacturers from across the continent, including market leaders and SMEs, accounting for ca. 70.000 employees and more than 90% of power tools sales in value in the EU. Power tools are key products for the construction industry as well as for the DIY sector. EPTA’s role is to look into the future for its members to secure and enhance their production and innovation environment in the context of the important green, digital, and industrial transition.

EU Policy Advisor (f/m/d)

The role
- Engage directly with our members to build relationships, identify needs and deliver value
- Monitor and report on EU-policy developments
- Mange independently internal working groups or project-related activities
- Develop, advise, and proactively drive member’s positions and advocacy efforts in the fields of European sustainability policy (e.g. Green Deal) and other sector-specific areas (e.g. machinery, batteries)
- Prepare, execute and follow-up meetings, incl. presentations, briefings, and position papers
- Represent the common interests of the European power tool sector vis-à-vis private and public stakeholders in Europe
- Develop communication content for internal and external purposes, such as newsletter, web content, press information
- Curate and build a strong network with relevant stakeholders and EU institutions
Your profile
- Hold a university degree (preferably politics, international relations, law, economics, communication, engineering)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a European institution, industry, association or consultancy; proven experience in working on environmental, digital, or consumer issues is a plus
- Good understanding of EU institutions and political processes; understanding of standardisation processes is a plus
- Effective team player, strong communicational and organisational skills, service- and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to analyse and present complex content adapting to the audience
- Ability to moderate discussions, propose ideas for positions, find compromises and draft positions
- Fluent written and spoken English skills (very high English proficiency); knowledge of other European languages is a plus
- Willingness to travel to meeting and events in Europe
