Consultant – People & Transformation Hamburg

As an Inhouse Consultant, you will be a key partner in enabling the delivery of Shell´s strategy in Germany. The role is part of the global Centre of Excellence, comprising around 100 consulting experts worldwide. You will be working within the HR & Corporate function in a team of 4 consultants and base location Hamburg.

What’s the role?

Our consultants work closely with Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, and HR Country Leads on the highest value business or country people priorities and projects for the German Shell entities. Projects typically have a high level of complexity and cover areas such as the long-term people agenda, cultural development and transformational change. This is achieved through the successful application of internally and externally relevant skills, such as project management, change and transformational management, integrative leadership and consulting skills. The project work typically covers the entire project life cycle, from scoping/ contracting, design, development and implementation to ensuring capturing the most relevant learnings from the projects.

Experience level will drive on which type of projects consultants are deployed.

What we need from you

For this challenging role, we are looking for a proactive, results-driven and creative thinker with the following experience and skills:

  • University level degree qualification combined with significant relevant professional experience, preferably gained in consulting or multinational companies.
  • Successful track record in delivering complex business projects involving multiple stakeholder groups and interfaces by selectively deploying a range of project and change management tools and methodologies.
  • Effective consulting skills: data-based diagnosis, inquiry, contracting and facilitation – to accurately scope the required work, assess resources required, contract the right team and facilitate defined interventions.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of the specific business, function or country context – including business value drivers and cost management levers as well as the connection to the overarching business agenda.
  • Understanding of and ability to integrate implications of external market drivers into project outcomes, such as demographic development, D&I, increasing talent shortage and changing needs/priorities of talent with regards to employer choice.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior business or function stakeholders as well as to deliver through others, including coaching cross-functional, virtual teams beyond formal line of authority.
  • Persistency, resilience and ability to deal with uncertainty and incomplete information.
  • Business fluency in English and German.
  • Experience in HR is not a must but desirable.

Flexible working options such as Part-time/job sharing are available.
