Main Responsibilities:
- You will work in the Public Affairs and Communications Department with a clear focus on Government Affairs.
- You have a deep understanding of political, in particular, legislative processes in Germany in order to monitor closely and analyze political and regulatory developments impacting Huawei’s business in the ICT and Energy/PV domain.
- Establish and foster sound communication channels and relationships with political stakeholders, in particular, the German Parliament and relevant ministries but also within the eco-system (including industry, regulatory bodies and academia / think tanks).
- Represent Huawei in political stakeholder and association meetings as well as events, conferences and parliamentary hearings.
- Actively form and communicate key positions within the political debate with relevance for Huawei.
- Be able to independently compile letters and presentations as well as internal briefings, strategic summaries and to provide legislative and regulatory monitoring.
- Be able to write contributions like statements and position papers on ICT matters for public hearings and consultations.
- Manage and coordinate local PA activities (e.g. meetings, events, appointment coordination).
- Cooperate with cross-departmental teams in order to align global, regional, local interests.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in political sciences, law and/or engineering, telecommunication or comparable direction; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of Public Affairs experience in industry associations, governmental/ parliamentary bodies, corporations, think tanks, or PA agencies with ICT and / or Energy link would be desired.
- Capacity to develop trustful relationships with political stakeholders; existing network is preferred.
- A natural communicator and networker who is able to advocate Huawei’s positions in a challenging environment but who is a good listener, at the same time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders across businesses and leadership levels.
- Profound knowledge regarding political and regulatory processes and strong affinity for ICT and Energy/PV topics as well as geopolitical developments.
- Ability to manage projects efficiently and independently.
- Soft skills: flexibility, openness, capacity to take initiatives and take up on challenges. Capacity to work under pressure, team spirit.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and German is required
